The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) organized two seminar-workshops for UPLB constituents, focusing on Wolfram Mathematica and NVIVO. These workshops aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in utilizing these applications for their academic and research endeavors.
The first seminar titled “Mathematica in Education and Research”, held on May 11, centered around Wolfram Mathematica, a widely used computational software that facilitates various scientific and mathematical calculations. Organized in collaboration with the UPLB Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics, the seminar provided participants with insights into the capabilities and applications of the software. Dr. Farid Pasha, an expert from Wolfram Mathematica, along with Dr. Nicamil Sanchez from Philippine Consortium, Inc., served as resource speakers.
On May 18, the focus shifted to NVIVO, a powerful qualitative data analysis software. The seminar-workshop provided participants with hands-on training on utilizing NVIVO for qualitative research and analysis. Dr. Nicamil Sanchez also served as the resource speaker.
CATL’s seminars align with their mission of promoting innovative teaching and learning approaches at UPLB. By equipping participants with cutting-edge software tools, CATL ensures that teachers, researchers, and students can leverage technology for academic and research advancements.
